His palette is not filled with paint in all its different colors: a huge warehouse full of old wooden planks forms the base of each work of art.

to raise funds for a quartely changing charitable cause. The way it works is simple: You supply $50 and three words - any 3 words, and in return you get a 6"x6" original signed piece of art that more or less interprets your three words. In the form of a robot and/or monster that is. The example below was imagined from the words - cowboy, eyeballs, jaunty. Works for me.

The primary advantage to RED is REDCODE. Compressed RAW at over 23.976 fps. This is a core invention of RED that's full effects have not been seen yet. The secondary advantage of RED is our sensor program. Some could argue that this is number one. Mysterium "Monstro" is a sensor program that pushes the envelope past anything on the horizon. It will go into Epic, and another camera aimed squarely at the DSLR market. Epic ships with Mysterium-X and has a free upgrade to Monstro. Scarlet has been talked about extensively. It is a 3K, 120fps camera with a built-in 8X zoom that starts at 28mm (full frame still 35mm) wide angle. The T-stop will be "at least" as published. We have a couple of other "tricks up our sleeves". The important message is that we are just getting started. Jim

Ha! This is a very cool idea.
It's basically just a film projector that can shine words or pictures on walls or whatever. But the cool part is that it's powered by a camera flash. The type, like many, that can be set to go off when they sense another flash going off.
So what you do is point this at something that people will be taking flash pictures of and when they take the picture the image fulgurator projects something for justa few milliseconds. The person taking the picture never sees it because it happens so fast, but their camera captures it. Brilliant! See a longer explanation and a video of it in action at checkpoint charlie here

Celemony, maker of Melodyne, software for pitch-shifting and time-stretching music have made a new breakthrough with their product. Polyphonic recordings, a guitar chord for instance, can now have each individual note within that chord be editable.
Major chords can become minor etc, not just shifted up or down in pitch. A whole song could potentially be created from one chord sample. Watch the video that shows this amazing technology in action.

MSI is working on on a cooling fan for computer chips that would run off the heat generated by that chip. The concept, already in the working prototype stage, uses a Stirling Engine to power a fan instead of using an additional power tap. It's part of their green initiative. Cool :)

Lighting Mods has one of the most thorough guides to cleaning DSLRs I've seen. I've yet to clean my sensor despite having my camera almost 2 years now. Maybe if I shot more landscapes I'd notice the spots more but they rarely are ever noticeable.
If you do plan on trying be sure to have a very good guide such as this on hand as you can really trash your camera if you do it wrong.

One of the more interesting aspects of this design is how it was received on the site where it was featured. Most of the comments condemned the artist for killing to make art. Umm...I wonder what the furniture in these peoples houses are made out of.

Apparently, since 2004 Michael David Murphy has been posting the photos he didn't take. Michael describes his site like this:
